Reducing stress is necessary for our physical and mental health.
Working mothers have an incredible amount of stress regardless of how well-behaved their children are. Juggling a career and a family is possible but it is going to get stressful at times as you are going to overextend yourself from time to time. Managing this stress is extremely important as you do not want a rough day at the office to be taken out on your loved ones when you arrive home. This stress can also impact your health in a negative way in people with high stress levels with blood pressure increasing in some cases. The following are ways that you can reduce stress at home and even work.
Use Your Commute To Plan Your Day and Unwind
Most people think of their commute to work as one of the most stressful parts of their day. Taking this time to plan your day at the office and go over everything you have to do can be a great advantage. This will help you become more productive as you will not be scrambling trying to figure out what to do as your commute let you think it all out. Days at the office can be bad so make sure that you take advantage of the commute home as well. This is the place to let out any anger you have about the day rather than take it out on your family. There are plenty of relaxation soundtracks and CDs out there so put one in and enjoy your commute instead of letting it impact your day negatively.
Relieve Stress on Your Body
Tension and stress can be caused by being uncomfortable or even something as simple as your back hurting. Choosing comfortable work shoes to stand in all day couldn’t be more important. Another tip if you work a more sedentary job is to get up and walk around as this can help relieve stress and get a fresh view on something. The proper posture can be a huge factor in the amount of stress that a person is feeling. Concentrate on proper posture as this can even allow you to be seen as more confident!
Exercise
The stresses of the day can easily be taken out during a great workout. Planning this workout after your day at the office is a healthy way to relieve stress. This can be any type of exercise whether it is lifting weights or doing an intense yoga session. The gym is somewhere that people go to escape the everyday problems that they might have.
Hot Tub
Going for a swim in the pool or jumping into a hot tub are great ways to relieve stress. The stress that has built up in your neck and back can be relieved with the warm jets of the hot tub. Swimming is a great workout as well as it is good cardio and it is low impact on the joints. Let the water help you relieve your stress today!
